Brief event’s summary
A door-to-door questionnaire was used as the tool to implement the community-wide survey, which aimed to gather comprehensive data on various aspects of sanitation, housing, and hygiene practices within the community. Divided into categories, it covered general information, dwelling and sanitation management, toilet facilities and hygiene practices, access to water resources, and public perceptions and attitudes. The questionnaire commenced with inquiries into general demographic information, including residency details, contact information, and socioeconomic status.
Methodology
Cluster sampling was used in sampling for this questionnaire, where the total population of Southern Ghor district was divided into clusters based on their distribution among the 2 sub-districts and 11 villages to achieve a representative sample size of 95 households.
Data Collection
To collect data for the community survey, the research team obtained an approved list of households from the local authorities with contact information and addresses as well as an approval to implement the door-to-door questionnaire on field. The research team has also worked with local CBOs to recruit local volunteers to implement the door-to-door questionnaire. 7 female and 3 male recruited local volunteers were trained on the electronic form of the questionnaire and were also trained on the code of conduct to ensure ethical approaches before being mobilized to conduct the door-to-door interviews. Appointments were made with households on the day of conducting the interview or a day prior and they were all approached at their places of residence.
